Mom's big birthday lands on Saturday, and her daughter is quietly throwing her a party, with the stepdad as the accomplice. His job is to lure the birthday woman out for the afternoon. Hers is to invite the aunt nobody has heard from in years. They plan, they whisper, they pretend, and they get very good at it. Episode 1 is a list of guests, a sudden stare and a guest room booked for tomorrow. Episode 2 reveals that the planner volunteered for a reason: seven days under one roof with him. The cake is the least of the surprises. Mom is home early.
